The healthcare sector of the United States has been confronting issues of cyber-attacks to such an extent that majority of the patients feel every moment that they are at great risk and thus their treatment processes suffer a lot.(Hacking Healthcare IT in 2016) The small sized clinics do not have many resources to enhance their information security systems. Even the large sized enterprises are vulnerable to the cyber threats. The White House had declared that it would increase opportunities to tackle the cyber threats in every sphere, but the more it determined the more challenges the nation faced, which are continuing. (Federal Register, Vol. 78, No.33) This research focuses on taking the right approach on how to deal with the cyber threats in the healthcare sector. There have been researches which were conducted to deal with this issue, but some made little difference to the already existing researches, while others are still on their way to improvise and come up with the finest solutions. The Health Information Trust Alliance (HITRUST) along with the Cyber Security Framework (CSF) is a model of the National Institute of Standards and Technology that provides a framework for identifying the risks and developing solutions to deal with the cyber risks.
